Tweet Crawl: The Sunset Strip

The Sunset Strip is celebrating the completion of the Sunset Strip Beautification Project on Aug. 12th and you are invited to join in on the festivities! The celebration includes the official launch of Gibson Guitar Town on The Sunset Strip, which is a public arts project that will feature more than 25 ten-foot tall fiberglass Gibson Les Paul model guitars strategically placed on the legendary Sunset Strip.

The event kicks off with the "grand reopening" of the boulevard at 5 p.m. featuring a caravan of classic cars driving The Strip (and an official ribbon cutting outside of the and on Sunset and Olive). After the opening, we're hitting the Strip and walking the newly renovated boulevard, viewing the guitars as well enjoying the many promotions and special events hosted by businesses along the way.

So grab your shoes and your Twitter Apps and join us as we walk, shop, dine and celebrate down The new Sunset Strip!

We're starting off at The Standard, Hollywood where they'll be offering their $4 Sunset Strip Cocktail (orange vodka, triple sec, orange juice and grenadine) as well as happy hour specials.

The we'll head over to the RH Bar at Andaz, where they are featuring the "Sunset Strip" Cocktail for $7, $5 beer, $6 gourmet bar bites, including triple fried French fries with truffle oil, homemade foie gras and charcuterie. The Andaz West Hollywood also boasts an art exhibit for us to enjoy and two "Rock 'n Roll" Art walls that feature a special exhibit. 

Next on our trek is The Comedy Store's front bar, which will be open all night with a DJ spinning. The Store will also showcase an exhibit of historic photographs of The Comedy Store when it was Ciro's to today (1940-2010). Wine and hors d'oeuvres will be available on the patio during the official "grand re-opening" of the boulevard.

There's a new ping pong pup-up from NY club SPiN at the Mondrian, so we're celebrating with them with a friendly ping pong tournament. A special cocktail which will be accompanied with music by DJ Simon Kassiandes.

Still have some energy? Let's walk up that hill to Red Rock, who will also be celebrating their 14 year anniversary with live acoustic performances and DJs. Drink specials include $3 Miller Light, Coors Light and MGD Draft beer as well as $6 Pelagrosso Tequila shots and $7 Pelagrosso margaritas.

After all that booze, the perfect place to stop by would be Dan Deutsch Optical for all of your rockstar sunglasses shopping needs. They'll host live music in the evening as well as a 10% discount on purchases.

We wrap it all up at The London West Hollywood, where they'll be featuring $5 cocktails, $5 bites and priceless views of the city.
