Transgender Day of Remembrance

The city of West Hollywood's Transgender Task Force will host a Day of Remembrance on Saturday, November 20, 2010 which will take place at 1:30 p.m. at Fiesta Hall in Plummer Park. The entire event will be held indoors. Parking is available for free at Plummer Park.  The presentations will begin at 2 p.m.

The Day of Remembrance is held every year on November 20th, in honor of Rita Hester, a transgender woman who was brutally murdered. In response to her murder, an outpouring of community grief and anger led to a candlelight vigil which inspired the creation of an international Transgender Day of Remembrance.
