Elton John to Host Oscars Party in Weho

The annual charity gala raises funds for the Elton John AIDS Foundation and features a gourmet feast designed by chef Gordon Ramsay.

The 21st annual Elton John AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party is scheduled to take place Sunday in West Hollywood Park.

John and foundation Chairman David Furnish will host the event that has raised nearly $34 million for a wide range of HIV/AIDS causes. This year's gala features a menu designed by celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay.

“David and I are so pleased to welcome our friend Chef Gordon Ramsay to EJAF’s Academy Awards Viewing Party,” John said in a statement. “I’m sure our guests will be thrilled by his wonderful cuisine, and we are deeply grateful to him for his generous philanthropic efforts over the years, his commitment to ending the AIDS epidemic, and for supporting our urgent cause with his talent and creativity.”

Ramsay will combine forces with Crumble Catering, which will handle all food preparation for the event.

The foundation supports a wide range of initiatives, including:

  • Direct treatment, care, and support services for people living with HIV/AIDS in marginalized communities, such as among young gay black men
  • Providing injection drug users with clean needles to prevent HIV infection and transmission
  • Sexual health education for young people in America who are most at risk

The viewing party is sponsored by Chopard, Neuro Drinks and Wells Fargo.
