Emily Eslami, who works at Book Soup, says you should never judge a book by its cover and describes her style as "bookstore chic."

West Hollywood has a style all its own. I am on a mission to document the fashion in Weho and to find out whether living in the famed city influences what people wear.

Meet Emily Eslami, a 25-year-old writer who works at . I talked to her about literature and chic style and how you can combine book smarts with fashion smarts.

What is your style and how would you describe it?

Find out what's happening in West Hollywoodwith free, real-time updates from Patch.

"I work in a bookstore, which has always been a fantasy of mine, so I'm milking it for all it's worth. So, I guess I would say, bookstore chic."

How do you combine fashion and literature?

"I would say I have an eclectic taste in books and an eclectic taste in clothing. One minute I'm reading Raymond Chandler and wearing skinny jeans and a flannel shirt, the next I'm reading Jane Austen and wearing flowery dresses. Don't judge a book by its cover!"

What are your favorite places to shop?

"Thrift stores and flea markets. I love Wasteland and the Fairfax flea market especially."

How do you think West Hollywood has or hasn't affected your style?

“There's a lot of fashionable people in this neighborhood and it's definitely made me feel I should step up my game, but there's also a lot of crazy, artsy people who don't give a crap and wear whatever they want, so it's inspired me to do the same.”

And what's the best thing you recently bought?

"The dress I'm wearing. I bought it at the Fairfax flea market for $15!"
