Weho to Celebrate 'Victory in Europe Day'

The city and the Russian Advisory Board host a celebration this weekend in Plummer Park.

The following is a press release from the city of West Hollywood.

The City of West Hollywood and the Russian Advisory Board will hold the annual "Victory in Europe Day" celebration in Fiesta Hall at Plummer Park on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at 11AM. This is an annual event in which over 400 veterans of the army of the former Soviet Union and their families gather to honor their members who fought with the Allied Forces in WWII, and it recognizes the collaborative efforts between the United States and former Soviet soldiers. A Victory in Europe Day ceremony honoring Russian-speaking residents who are veterans of the Soviet military of WWII and have contributed socially, culturally and civically to the City of West Hollywood.

Victory in Europe Day has traditionally been celebrated in the City of West Hollywood on May 9th. However, in order to facilitate guests’ ability to attend, it will be celebrated on Saturday instead. Everyone is invited. Admission is free. For more information, please call (323) 848-6826.
