Weho Supper Club Benefits Anti-Bullying Crusade
Locals gather regularly to raise funds for worthy causes.
More than 50 people met this week at Lola’s restaurant in West Hollywood to support an anti-bullying charity.
WeHo Supper Club Wednesdays, a rotating dinner and cocktail event, raised funds for The Friend Movement and featured special guest Lizzie Velasquez, a bullied woman who has become a spokesperson for the organization.
Velasquez is only one of three people in the world known to have a debilitating disease called Adipose Syndrome and was bullied because of it.

Weho event planner Chad Hudson and Ronnie Kroell, founder of the The Friend Movement, organized the event.
The WeHo Supper Club has met regularly at local restaurants since May 2009. Each event features a different West Hollywood-area restaurant and a different charity, with 10-20 percent of corresponding food and beverage sales donated to local worthy causes.

The supper club has raised more than $100,000 for various charities since it began, club spokesman Christopher Kingry said.
"The Friend Movement inspires people to prevent bullying by enabling them to be a better friend; providing entertaining and educational resources, cultivating global partnerships, and leveraging the latest social media technology," according to the group's mission statement.
