Weho Resident Honored as KCET Local Hero

A KCET special honoring Ivy Bottini and 12 other Local Heroes airs next Monday.

For her contributions in lesbian and feminist activism, Ivy Bottini of West Hollywood was honored by KCET as a Local Hero in October. The awards ceremony will broadcast Monday.

Bottinin, who is currently working with The Lavender Effect to create an interactive LGBT museum near West Hollywood, is credited with spearheading a number of projects and organizations in support of the gay and lesbian community.

Bottini is the founder of the Los Angeles Lesbian/Gay Police Advisory Board and co-chaired the Lesbian and Gay Advisory Board in West Hollywood between 2000 and 2010.
