Wednesday's Scoop: NCJW to Screen 'Carissa' Documentary
The Los Angeles section of the National Council of Jewish Women is hosting a free screening of a new documentary about juvenile prostitution.
Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Wednesday in West Hollywood:
Main Event: Carissa at NCJW/LA
The short film by David Sauvage tells the story of Carissa Phelps, who was a childhood survivor of domestic sex trafficking. The screening and panel discussion will take place at 543 N. Fairfax Ave. (one block south of Melrose at Clinton), from 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Runner-Up: State of the City 2011
West Hollywood Mayor John Duran and City Manager Paul Arevalo will make a presentation highlighting the "state of the city," its economy and future growth, from 12-1:30 p.m. in 's Fiesta Hall. Tickets are $75 for West Hollywood Chamber of Commerce nonmembers.

Other Happenings:
- A joint meeting between the Senior and Disabilities advisory boards will take place at 2 p.m. in the Community Conference Room. Both boards will hear from the city's library consultant, Linda Demmers, regarding the new West Hollywood Library scheduled to open this fall, and options for the $20,000 award received from the National Organization on Disability.
- Marilyn Ann Moss will present and sign copies of Raoul Walsh: The True Adventures of Hollywood's Legendary Director at Book Soup at 7 p.m. The full-length biography recounts Walsh's life and achievements. The book can be purchased through the website for $40.
The Forecast:
- West Hollywood will see areas of dense fog before 11 a.m., reports the National Weather Service, gradually clearing. Temperatures will reach 82 and drop to around 66 in the evening.
