Wednesday's Scoop: City to Hear Laurel Hardware Restaurant and Kitchen 24 Proposals

West Hollywood's Community Development Director will hold a special meeting to discuss two proposed Santa Monica Boulevard eateries.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Wednesday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: Community Development Director's Special Meeting

Two public hearings are scheduled for 5 p.m. at —one on 8575 Santa Monica Blvd. (Kitchen 24) and another for 7982 Santa Monica Blvd. (Laurel Hardware Restaurant). Laurel is requesting to convert a previous retail space into a restaurant and requires a Minor Conditional Use Permit (MCUP) to allow the sales, service, and consumption of full alcohol. Kitchen 24 is requesting an expansion of approximately 969 square feet of additional interior restaurant space and 320 square feet of new outdoor dining space, as well as extended business hours to operate the restaurant 24-hours daily. Other Happenings:

  • Law enforcement professionals throughout Los Angeles County will participate in a one-day workshop, focusing on understanding the Korean culture, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Korean Cultural Center (5505 Wilshire Blvd).
  • LA's four-day poetry festival, , kicks off at the  at 11 a.m. The event hosts both an independent poet slam, as well as a highly competitive team slam, featuring eight groups from throughout the nation. Tickets range from $5 to $20.
