Tuesday's Scoop: Celebrate 'NO H8' at the House of Blues

Portraits of everyday Californians, celebrities, military personnel and others to fill the House of Blues for NOH8 Day, in support of marriage equality.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Tuesday in West Hollywood:

Main Event:

The will be transformed into an art gallery, showcasing hundreds of the 18,000-plus portraits taken since the project began to celebrate the NOH8 Campaign's third anniversary. Founders Adam Bouska and Jeff Parshley, Glee stars Ashley Fink and Dot Marie Jones, Mackenzie Phillips, LeAnn Rimes and Hal Sparks are expected to attend. Festivities include an open bar from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m., along with live performances at 9:30 p.m. Admission is free and open to guests of all ages.

City Meetings:

  • The city's Human Services Commission is meeting in the Community Room of the West Hollywood Library at 6 p.m. Staff will discuss various options for revisions to the route of the CityLine shuttle service and receive information about the recent settlement that establishes a new state program to replace services provided to seniors and people living with disabilities in the former Adult Day Health Care programs, according to the agenda.
  • An Arts and Cultural Affairs Commission special meeting is taking place at 7:30 p.m. in the Community Conference Room of City Hall at 7:30 p.m. The commission will receive an update on the initiative, as well as from staff on arts and cultural programming at the West Hollywood Library, according to the agenda.

  • The Boxwood Café by Gordon Ramsay at hotel is having a charitable afternoon tea service through the end of the month. At $28 per person, 15 percent of all proceeds will be donated to A Place Called Home, which raises funds for underserved individuals. Call 310-358-7788 for more information.

The Forecast:

  • The National Weather Service forecasts a 40 percent chance of showers before 10 a.m., mostly cloudy, with a high temperature near 59. West Hollywood will see calm winds becoming northeast around 5 mph. The low is expected to be around 47.
