Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Thursday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: 'Snowed In' Party

on the Sunset Strip is pulling out all the stops for their holiday party, complete with snow on the patio, Christmas-themed karaoke and Fireball whiskey drink specials sure to warm you up. Swing by around 9 p.m. to partake in the festivities, and keep an eye out for Santa and some elves.

  • The city's Urban Arts Subcommittee is meeting at 5 p.m. in the Rent Stabilization Hearings Room. The subcommittee will discuss and begin development of its 2012-14 work plan and budget priorities and receive an update from staff on the Percent for Art Ordinance Modification, according to the agenda.
  • The West Hollywood Women’s Advisory Board is meeting at 7 p.m. in the Community Conference Room. According to the agenda, the board will consider co-sponsoring an upcoming writers discussion about Elizabeth Taylor, hosted by Writers Bloc—an organization that hosts literary events.

Other Happenings:

Susan Bernard, a producer and daughter of photographer Bruno Bernard, will discuss and sign copies of Marilyn: Intimate Portraits at 7 p.m. at . Many of the images have never before been published, according to the event description.

The Forecast:

Thursday will be mostly sunny, with a high temperature near 64, according to the National Weather Service. West Hollywood will see calm winds becoming west-southwest between 5 mph and 10 mph. Low temperature around 49.
