Sunday's Scoop: NCJW/LA to Hold Annual Clothing Giveaway for Those in Need

The Los Angeles Council of Jewish Women expects to give away 70,000 clothing items and children's books to more than 5,000 in-need and at-risk individuals in the community—many of them from shelters.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Sunday in West Hollywood:

Main Events:

  • The National Council of Jewish Women/Los Angeles (NCJW/LA) will hold its Annual Clothing Giveaway from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nearly 200 volunteers gave away more than 70,000 pieces of clothing last year, according to NCJW/LA. This year's event event will be held in the parking lot of the Council house, located at 543 N. Fairfax Ave.
  • The June L. Mazer Lesbian Archives located at 626 N. Robertson Blvd. are holding a Lesbian Short Films Event from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in their all-accessible room downstairs. The film list includes Dyke Dollar directed by Laura Terruso, Tiny and Ruby: Hell Divin Women directed by Greta Schiller and Andrea Weiss, Chained directed by Betsy Kalin, and more. Snacks and drinks will be served.

The Forecast:

  • The National Weather Service forecasts sunny and clear skies, with a high near 67. West Hollywood will be breezy, with a north northeast wind between 15 and 25 mph, gusts as high as 30 mph. The low will be 45.
