Saturday's Scoop: Become an Urban Gardener in Weho

West Hollywood will hold a lottery for 33 plots at the new community garden located at 1201 Detroit St.

Arbor Day Tree Planting

The City of West Hollywood will plant 15 Pink Trumpet trees starting at 9 a.m. along the northeast corner of Romaine Street and Formosa Avenue. The community event will kick off with a short “how to” planting session, followed by a discussion about the importance and value that trees play in our urban environment, according to the event description.

A lottery for plots at the new West Hollywood community garden located at 1201 Detroit Street will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in Rooms 5 & 6 of the Community Center at . The Detroit Garden will provide the community with 33 gardening plots, each at $100 annually, which help cover the cost of utilities. ASA Meeting in Weho

The Los Angeles Chapter of Americans for Safe Access (ASA) will be holding its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. at 7211 Santa Monica Blvd., Suite 300. The group will be writing letters and scheduling District Office visits in support of California Senator Mark Leno’s SB 129, a bill that will protect medical cannabis patients from employment discrimination, according to ASA.
