Saturday's Scoop: Occupy Movement Coming to West Hollywood
Gay activists are planning to gather in Plummer Park at 10 a.m. for a march through Weho lasting until 1 p.m. this afternoon.

Main Event:
The march will start in at 10 a.m., travel down Santa Monica Boulevard to the Matthew Shepard Triangle at Crescent Heights for a brief rally, then move back to Plummer Park, according to the group's website. News blog LGBT | POV reports the Metropolitan Community Church/Los Angeles’ Social Justice Ministry is the primary organizer, working with members of Occupy LA.

Other Happenings:
Gibson GuitarTown will auction more than 20 10-foot painted guitars, which have lined the Sunset Strip since August 2010, for charity at 2 p.m. at Julien's Auctions (9665 Wilshire Blvd.). Proceeds from the auction will benefit the Los Angeles Youth Network, West Hollywood Arts & Cultural Commission and the West Hollywood Library, according to a city announcement.

The City of West Hollywood is presenting WeHo Drive, a rolling event to learn about and sign up for volunteering opportunities for the 2012 MLK Day of service, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the new West Hollywood Library. The event will also include a food and toy drive for the needy, as well as letter writing to veterans and wounded troops. Donations will benefit the West Hollywood Food & Toy Drive and SOVA Food Pantry.

The Forecast:
- The National Weather Service forecasts a high near 64, low around 50, with winds 25 to 30 mph and clear skies. The low in West Hollywood is expected to reach around 50.
