The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is holding a food drive noon-4 p.m. Saturday at Pavillions in West Hollywood.
Americans across the country will participate in similar service-oriented activities as part of a National Day of Service to coincide with President Barack Obama's second inauguration and Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
The food bank suggested the following canned foods and other goods for donation:
- Peanut butter and jelly
- Canned fruits and vegetables
- Fruit juices
- Other dry, shelf-stable items
The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is a nonprofit charitable organization that was founded in 1973.
