A new art display is soon coming to the West Hollywood Park.
The City of West Hollywood along with visual artist Cosimo Cavallaro will install three sculptures in the shape of jelly beans later this month at the park as part of the city’s "Art on the Outside" program.
Cavallaro’s work entitled, "Love Your Bean," was chosen after a review process and will be a great addition to the park, according to Cultural Affairs Administrator Andrew Campbell.
"We’re really a very pedestrian-friendly city, and we look at projects that can help us enhance that," Campbell said.
Cavallaro, a former television commercial film director, worked with local fabricator Jack Brogan for about a year testing material and colors to use for the project.
"I think it's very unique," Campbell said. "It's fun, playful. They’re really kind of beautiful too. It draws attention to the park."
"Love Your Bean" will be installed in the park the week of Aug. 26, according to Campbell.
There will also be an opening reception to celebrate the work at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5, at West Hollywood Park located at 647 North San Vicente Blvd.
