Monday's Scoop: Independence Day Fun and Fireworks

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening this July 4th in West Hollywood:

Celebrating in Weho

An old-fashioned patriotic celebration will be taking place in from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free event features a game booth, trackless train and arts and craft shows, singers and acoustic guitarists. Fat Burger will be supplying the hamburgers, says Susy Salazar, recreation coordinator with the city.

Special Holiday Parking

In observance of Independence Day, while permit parking will be enforced, parking meters and associated time limits, as well as peak hour towing restrictions, will not be enforced. In addition, there will be no street sweeping. Visitor permits will be available at the Kings Road Parking Structure or .

July 4th Forecast

West Hollywood can expect a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11 a.m., with an otherwise mostly sunny forecast, reports the National Weather Service. Temperatures will reach 94.
