Monday's Scoop: City Council to Continue Hearing on Draft Weho General Plan

In order to address Councilman D'Amico's questions about mixed use development on Santa Monica Boulevard, the council will allocate funds for an additional community meeting and traffic analysis.

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Monday in West Hollywood:

Main Event: City Council Regular Meeting

The City Council meets at 6:30 p.m. in the West Hollywood Park Auditorium. On the agenda is a comprehensive General Plan update, including a climate action plan and environmental impact report, and the approval for a mural, created and installed by artist Shepard Fairey, on the new West Hollywood Library lobby wall.

Other Happenings:

  • If you are heading to the  today (9 a.m. - 2 p.m.) in 's north parking lot, stock up on California avocados and crunchy radishes for this week's —a summer salad. The weekly market also features organic and farm fresh fruits, fish, vegetables, baked goods, flowers and crepes. 
  • Original lithographs by graffiti artist Shepard Fairey will be on display at The Advocate & Gochis Galleries from 6-9:30 p.m. For more information, visit www.lagaycenter.org/art
  • The Los Angeles Gay & Lesbian Center’s Lily Tomlin/Jane Wagner Cultural Arts Center presents Standing on Ceremony, nine short plays by some of America’s greatest playwrights in support of marriage equality at 8 p.m. in The Renberg Theatre. Tickets are $35 to $50.
