Friday's Scoop: City to Honor Members of U.S. Armed Forces at Veterans Day Ceremony

The annual observance at the Sal Guarriello Veterans' Memorial includes a Presentation of Colors from the Fairfax High School JROTC.

The City of West Hollywood will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m., featuring guest speaker and veteran, Commander Jeric Wilhelmsen of the Hollywood American Legion Post 43, with an Invocation by Rabbi Hershy Ten and a Presentation of Colors from the Fairfax High School JROTC. The ceremony will take place at the Sal Guarriello Veterans’ Memorial, located at the intersection of Holloway Drive and Santa Monica Boulevard. Public parking will be available at the Kings Road parking structure, 8383 Santa Monica Blvd. Admission is free.

  • West Hollywood City Hall will be closed. As a result, visitor permits will be available on Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Kings Road Parking Structure from 8 a.m. to 6 a.m. or West Hollywood Sheriff's Station all day.
  • Parking meters and associated time limits, as well as Peak Hour Towing Restrictions will not be enforced. There will be no street sweeping. The enforcement of the aforementioned parking regulations will resume on Saturday, Nov. 12.

  • The National Weather Service forecasts a high near 75, with a low around 54. West Hollywood will see partly sunny skies, with a 30 percent chance of rain late the evening. Will will be south southeast around 5 mph.
