Five Things: Free Trolley, Summer Reading Party and More

Here are five things residents of West Hollywood need to know today.

1. "The PickUp," a free late night trolley is being officially launched by the City of West Hollywood on Friday with a party at 6 p.m. on the patios in front of Micky’s, Revolver, and Eleven located at 8857, 8851 and 8811 Santa Monica Boulevard and a launch event with city officials at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Larrabee Street and Santa Monica Boulevard. The line will run from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

2. For local kids who participated in the Teen Summer Reading Program, there will be an End of Summer Party from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the West Hollywood Library.

3. There will be a free Summer Sounds Concert with music by Louis Cruz Beltran at 4 p.m. on Sunday in West Hollywood Park located at 647 North San Vicente Blvd.

4. Friday's ultraviolet index level will be 11, according to the National Weather Service. The reading is indicative of what the ultraviolet exposure will be at noon when the sun's rays are at their peak. A high level of 10 or more can lead to sun damage especially if skin is unprotected.
