Weekend Workshop Aims to Empower Women

The National Council of Jewish Women offers outreach to women.

The National Council of Jewish Women Los Angeles hopes to help empower women through a workshop this weekend.

The "Women’s Action Training Project: Presenting Your Message" will be offered on Sunday, Aug. 4, as part of a series of educational workshops for women.

"It's been a really successful program," said Allison Pearl, programming and outreach intern for the National Council of Jewish Women. "It's more about the pragmatic skills you need to advocate for a cause or a business or yourself."

Women who participate in this weekend's workshop will learn effective ways to deliver a message to the media and to the general public, according to Pearl.

The cost of the workshop is $15, and it is also being sponsored by the Jewish Women’s Conference, American Jewish World Services, City of West Hollywood Women’s Advisory Board, West Hollywood Women’s Leadership Conference, Bend the Arc, Planned Parenthood Los Angeles, the League of Women Voters of Los Angeles and Reshet Women: Jewish Women’s Network.

Sunday's workshop will take place form 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 543 North Fairfax Ave.
