  • Why Go: Former Rolling Stone writer and MTV host Kurt Loder is discussing The Good, the Bad and the Godawful: 21st-Century Movie Reviews, a collection of more than 200 movie reviews, at 3 p.m. At 7 p.m., Ziggy Marley joins Jim Mahfood (Kick Drum Comix, Mix Tape) to chat about their comic, Ziggy Marley's Marijuanaman HC

2. 6 Packs / 9 Lives Calendar Launch Party

  • Why Go: Found Animals, an organization dedicated to animal rescue, has created a calendar that features shirtless male models with their feline companions. The Abbey is having a "cat-walk off" in honor of the calendar launch, with the models and celebrity photographer Adam Bouska. Expect a larger than life-size ball of yarn and signature cocktails.

3. C.I.T.Y.x1 Pre-Thanksgiving Dinner

  • Where/When: , 7377 Santa Monica Blvd. Saturday 6-9 p.m.
  • Why Go: Grassroots organization, Community Intervention Through Youth (C.I.T.Y.) x1, is throwing LA County LGBTQ youth and allies ages 14-24 a free Thanksgiving soiree, featuring a feast, live DJ, laser show, free HIV testing, giveaways and more.
  • Cost: Free

4. Semi Precious Weapons
