The Hudson Donates $5,000 to SOVA Food Bank

The Hudson restaurant and bar donates $5,000 collected from its Hudson Block Party held in May to the SOVA Food Bank. Hudson owner Michael Jay says another check to SOVA will be coming soon.

made a $5,000 donation to the . The local non-profit agency was the beneficiary of the Hudson's Block Party held on May 20. The Hudson hand-delivered the check to SOVA's office last week and promised that more was on the way after a full accounting of the May event was completed.

Michael Jay, co-owner of The Hudson, assured the newly-formed Neighborhood Improvement Committee, which met on Saturday morning, that the total donation would be "in the low 5 figures" when all is said and done.

The Block Party at Santa Monica Boulevard and Crescent Heights Boulevard. However, many residents said their solace for the inconvenience of the party was knowing a small portion of the money would be donated to a worthy community charity.

The SOVA Food and Resource Program is run by Jewish Family Services, providing families and individuals with free groceries, case management, counseling and job search assistance.  SOVA operates 3 pantries in the Los Angeles area including their newest location in West Hollywood at 1140 N. La Brea Avenue.
