Rage hosts a drag beauty pageant with celebrity guest judges.
Fans patiently waited outside the red carpet Tuesday night for the 1st Annual Drag Pageant at Rage. It was Rage's Dreamgirls Revue with Melissa and Joan Rivers as celebrity guest judges. There was a suggested $10 donation at the door, with proceeds going towards Project Angel Food.
Sparkles, eyelashes, hair and props were all part of the preparation backstage. Contestants came from various cities, including Van Nuys and Riverside, to compete in the pageant.
Cameras were around to capture the competition. "Eat, drink and be merry!" Joan Rivers told the crowd as she held up her glass. Energy and glamour filled the room as each contestant strutted down the runway.
The winner of the pageant will be featured in an episode of Melissa and Joan Rivers' new reality TV show, "Mother Knows Best," on the WE channel later this year.
