Deputies to Enforce Motorcycle Safety

The Sheriff's Department will also be on the lookout for drunk drivers and riders in Weho.

The sheriff's Traffic Services Detail will conduct a specialized motorcycle safety enforcement operation in West Hollywood on Saturday.

Extra deputies will patrol areas frequented by motorcyclists and where motorcycle crashes occur, sheriff's Detective Daniel Dail said.

Deputies will be looking for drivers and riders who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol and will crack down on motorcyclists as well as drivers of other vehicles that can cause motorcycle collisions, injuries and fatalities, Dail said.

Motorcycle fatalities declined in 2009 and 2010 after years of increasing fatalities.
