Los Angeles County District Attorney's office inquiry into possible misuse of city credit cards by City Hall employees continues.

More than a year after the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office opened an inquiry into possible misuse of city credit cards by West Hollywood City Hall employees, that inquiry is still underway.

“The District Attorney's Public Integrity Division is [still] conducting an inquiry to determine if a criminal investigation will be opened,” said spokesperson Sandi Gibbons when Weho Patch contacted the DA’s office this week.

Gibbons would not elaborate about details of the inquiry except to say she did not know when it would end.

An inquiry is the stage at which prosecutors look to determine if there is enough to justify doing a full criminal investigation.

Those charges included a dinner for six at  that totaled $674 and one at  that came to $308. Other charges include $2,040 for six Montblanc pens and $1,860 worth of gift cards purchased at  market.

The DA initially requested a wide range of documents from City Hall, looking to determine if there were patterns of use for the credit cards which required further examination.

Later in the summer, Weho News reported that the DA had requested additional documents related to expenditures made by Councilmember John Duran, Assistant City Manager Joan English and then-employee Kathryn Kreitzman.

When the DA initially requested the documents, the city issued a statement saying it was “fully cooperating with the request.”
