Summer Brings a Smorgasbord of New Eateries to Weho

Ink, Vodvil, Rosewood Tavern, Kitchen 24—could this summer get any tastier?

This summer, get ready to dine out.

A smorgasbord of new eateries is hitting West Hollywood, and the pickings aren't slim. The choices include Rosewood Tavern, a gastropub concept on the Fairfax corridor (which is fast becoming a foodie hot spot); , a modern take on a diner located smack in the middle of Hollywood; and two hotly anticipated spots featuring Top Chef contestants: Ink (Michael Voltaggio) and Vodvil (Jamie Lauren).

And that's in addition to newly opened and , which are busy slugging it out for the title of L.A.'s best hot dog, and reality-show-turned-restaurant , suitably located on the Sunset Plaza in West Hollywood.

"I definitely welcome the new upspring of restaurants along the Fairfax corridor that provide great atmosphere and food," said resident Jason Coffey.

These include Rosewood Tavern, which is already open for business. From the restaurateur behind local favorites The Bowery and District, it specializes in upscale pub fare, such as a slow-roasted beef dip sandwich ($12), all American tavern burger ($13), and steak and ale pie ($12). Looking for something a little less heavy?

"The mussels at Rosewood are light and fresh, but the beer list is what really hits the spot," Coffey continued. "Also, the hunter green walled interior does a great job of blending the speakeasy trend with that of an old school pub."

Also open this month on the Fairfax corridor is Vodvil from Lauren, who most recently worked at Beechwood. The whimsical restaurant combines game night (think karaoke and word games, featuring a different theme each night), with a menu of small bites focused on comfort food. Specialties include homemade chips and dip, mama's tuna croquette, and shake and bake fried chicken.

Meanwhile, a few miles east on Cahuenga Boulevard, Kitchen 24 is also already packed with customers. "K24 is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner like their name suggests," said diner Justin Manask. "But their late night specialties are the drunk fries, milkshakes and baked goods on offer to soak up the fun from a Hollywood bar crawl."

Last week, the city's development director to stay open from 2-6 a.m. Kitchen 24 is set for the space at 8575 Santa Monica Blvd., adjacent to the , formerly Primo Bistro.

But probably the most hotly anticipated restaurant of the year is Ink from Top Chef winner Voltaggio (formerly of The Dining Room in Pasadena and The Bazaar by Jose Andres). However, it has yet to open its doors and has hit numerous delays. Even though Voltaggio announced at a that it would open in July, Eater is reporting that the chef is now "looking at a mid-August debut."

Either way, there's plenty of new grub hitting West Hollywood this summer, so get ready to dine out.
